(SI) Spiderman Remastered |
Platforms: Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5
Spiderman Remastered is an open world 3rd person perspective game. This game is available as a full game for Windows PCs. For PlayStation, it is bundled with Spiderman Miles Morals Ultimate edition for free. Though, the standard edition owners have to pay 20 bucks to get the remastered edition. However, let's talk about the game. Porting and optimizing a PS game for the "realistic graphics" folks is a big leap for this franchise. The PC edition includes the complete story and also comes with a DLC named "The city that never sleeps". The game sits in New York where Peter (The Spiderman) have to face the villains and defeat them. But he also have to handle his personal life. The gameplay is smooth and feels comfortable after a few tries. The visuals are really satisfying. Also being an open world game, it's awesome to explore the city. Especially, playing in a Spiderman game. If you really like story following open world games, Spiderman Remastered can fulfill your needs. Also, it's a great game for the Marvel folks.
4) Horizon Forbidden West
(SI) Horizon Forbidden West (from official PS website) |
Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4
Another open world game. A sequel successor of Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2017. In this game, you have to play as a character named Aloy. Being an action role-playing game, you have to complete missions to rescue the planet's biosphere by conquering the animal-like machines or robots. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic form of the Western regions named Forbidden West. This game has made a lot of improvements compared to its predecessor. Noticeably improved graphics and visual treatment, improved water physics simulation, underwater exploration and new tools in the game make it a much better game than Zero Dawn. As expected, it's well received in the gaming community. However, the game would be released in 2021, but the Covid-19 pandemic affected its development progression. So, it was delayed to early 2022. But lastly, the game was released and earned a great amount of reputation. Yeah, the series already got some reputation thanks to Zero Dawn. So, if you love to explore some amazing places, you can check out this game.
3) Need For Speed Unbound
(SI) Need for Speed Unbound |
Platforms: Windows, PlayStation 5
Need for Speed Unbound is a title that has been released in late 2022. But the game contains a new art style. Of course, I'm talking about its new anime approach. It's really unique indeed. Unlike previous NFS titles, EA promised to update this title regularly. Overall, from car model design to the characters, everything is decent. They also put human NPCs around the city which is new for a Need for Speed game (yeah, some locations in the city looks almost empty...). This game sits in a fictional location named Lakeshore City. An awesome sense of speed can really cheer your mood up. You can play this game if you're looking for a new art style and want to customize every piece of your car. Though, inside the NFS community, people are not so happy about the soundtrack. Coz, EA and the devs omitted the heavy metal genre. Also, the game greatly prioritizes character customization. Of course, this game was created to attract the newer generation towards this series. But the anime effects look really good while racing or roaming. Overall, it's a great game to check out.
2) Stray
(SI) Stray |
Platforms: Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5
Speaking about new perspectives, Stray is a great game for playing from a new perspective. Here, the player actually have to play as a cat. That's a perspective! However, you have to do complete this story being a cat all time. In the middle of the game, you'll meet with a drone named B12. That drone understands the cat's language and helps him to accomplish his missions and beat the cat's enemies. No matter what type of gamer you are, this game will be a whole new experience for you. The graphics is also really good. We know that Unreal Engine 5 has got the power to deliver some excellent graphics. But this Unreal Engine 4 game proves that the predecessor of UE 5 is really capable of delivering some eye-catching graphics.
1)Elden Ring
(SI) Elden Ring |
Platforms: Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox series X/S
And why not? This is something that people really like to play. The motive of this game is to repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord. However, the inner story of Elden Ring is a long one. So, let's move our attention towards public opinions. What can I say about this game... A game that really teaches the modern AAA titles. Being the Game of the Year, Elden Ring got a huge success both in critiques and commercially. Its open world style is hugely appreciated by the players and the reviewers. According to some players, it's difficult to play this game. But the gameplay, environment, missions you'll experience is worth the difficulty. In other words (according to public opinion), "This game entertains the player in a painful way." However, the gameplay of this action role-playing game excellently matches the game environment. You can play this game if you want some excellent difficult gaming experience. Note though, older Gen CPUs can suffer to run this game at a playable frame rate.
Final thoughts:
Incoming days will offer a lot of great games. But it's great to take a snapshot of the best games of 2022. Especially, indie games are catching mainstream popularity very quickly compared to previous years. Stray and Elden Ring are no exception. Even 2022 proves that indie games can also represent themselves as the world's best video game titles. Of course, AAA games are still the big boys of the market. But let's give the video game industry some time and see if the scenario will remain the same or something revolutionary will happen. What are your thoughts? Share with us using the comment section.
